SushiZero. An international all you can eat concept will arrive in Torres Novas

There are more and more people liking sushi, so it is natural for more and more restaurants to appear all over the country. Mainly in more rural areas or small towns, where the supply is sometimes non-existent.

In the case of Torres Novas, the case began to change when, in 2020, the Sushi4youwhich eventually evolved into Sushi and You, making it the best place in the city to devour some beautiful niguiris or gunkans. Yes, there were already other places in the city that served pieces of sushi, but not with the desired quality. In 2022, in the city of phenomena next door, Entroncamento, the sushi daywhich has delighted those who pass by.

This small introduction serves to reveal that the city of Torres Novas is very close to gaining a new restaurant specializing in the famous Japanese delicacy. Give the name of Sushi Zero and it will have a very important feature: it will work on an “all you can eat” system, something that does not currently exist in the city – at least if we ignore the other spots that mix different cuisines.

Sushi Zero is preparing to open at 74 Rua da Várzea, right in front of the Intermarché supermarket. And the truth is that the works are very late, as the restaurant should have opened last March.

In any case, this is an opening that has been planned for some time. For example, the Sushi Zero Instagram account was created in May 2023, but it only has an image published at the end of last January, which reads “coming soon”, and there is no promotion for the restaurant other than this image . And if you search for “Sushizero Portugal” on Google, you will notice photos that were taken by Andrei Bratosin a year ago, but without any reference to Sushi Zero. We do not know, however, who this person is and whether or not he will be linked to the business.

Sushi Zero: From Italy to Torres Novas

Knowing that Torres Novas is a city with 34,149 inhabitants (data from the 2021 Census), it is also somewhat strange how a city of this size was chosen to debut an international sushi concept. Yes, Sushi Zero is an international restaurant chain, originating in Italy. At least judging by the logo used by Sushizero Torres Novas, which is the same as the original.

Visiting the official Sushi Zero website in Italy, you can immediately see that information is scarce, but that it has seven restaurants in that country, the first of which apparently opened in 2016. “We are a chain of all you can eat Japanese restaurants. We pride ourselves on our sophisticated designs and skilled chefs. Our restaurants were all designed to be the most aesthetic restaurants you will ever visit. Together with our high-quality food, creative dishes and top-notch customer service, we will satisfy every craving you may have for Japanese food.”reads the Sushi Zero Itália Linkedin page.

Judging by the photos we can see on the official Facebook page of this all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant chain, the atmosphere of the units, that is, the interior of each space, appears to be impressive, but taking into account the size of Sushi Zero Torres Novas, it will be difficult to imagine a similar environment. And this is without counting the large investment that will be necessary to replicate the foreign concept.

For our part, we tried to speak several times with Miguel – also owner of the Saturn Sushi Restaurant, in Vila Franca de Xira -, the manager and owner of the space who, despite having seen all our messages, chose to ignore and not respond. During the afternoon of this Wednesday, we managed to catch the person responsible at the door of the space, who, after a brief conversation with the Echo Boomersaid that the works were “very late”. However, the plan is to open the restaurant by the end of April, although there is no specific date for now.

In any case, the team is not yet in a position to answer several of our questions, so there is a lot that remains to be clarified.

That said, little else is known about this new restaurant which, it seems, will join the growing range of Asian restaurants in the Middle Tagus.
