This is a common question. There are two extremes in Portugal: those who think that everything goes into the IRS as an expense; and those who think nothing is worth it. Neither one nor the other is right. The important thing is to know what goes in and what doesn’t and in what percentages. It’s like a culinary recipe: for the cake to turn out well, all the ingredients have to be there and in the correct proportions.
