MC Daniel recently published a video on Instagram that got people talking. In it, the Brazilian artist shows his mother, Daniela, in a Portuguese restaurant and experiencing an unusual moment.
The country was described by her as “wonderful”, but this unusual moment ended up influencing the experience. Daniela called the waiter “young man”, a common expression in Brazil, but apparently not so well received in Portuguese lands. Another customer soon intervened, stating emphatically: “There are no young men here.”
The man’s reaction did not go unnoticed by MC Daniel, who spared no criticism in his publication. He wasn’t present at the time, but he didn’t let it go unnoticed. “I felt sorry for her. How lucky I wasn’t. My mother was visibly uncomfortable, not knowing that she couldn’t call a man a boy in Portugal.”
However, the publication got people talking in such a way that the restaurant where it all happened ended up speaking out on social media. “Whoever reads and analyzes can always have more than one interpretation. The principle of operation in our house is based on respect for customers and always with the intention of welcoming them in the best possible way. We would like you to come back here to give our employee the opportunity to apologize”it reads.
