European elections take place on June 9th. In this event, dematerialized electoral rolls will be used for the first time, which will be available through computer equipment

Viseu City Council announced that it will hire 115 IT technicians to support the municipality’s polling stations in the European elections scheduled for June 9th. In this act, dematerialized electoral rolls will be used for the first time, which will be available through computer equipment.

To help polling station members, the Chamber will train and recruit IT support technicians who will be duly accredited by the Electoral Administration.

The selected technicians will have to carry out a six-hour in-person training session, train polling station members on the morning of June 1st, participate in tests that will take place on June 3rd and provide support during election day. For all this, they will be able to receive compensation of 177.45 euros, which will only be given if they fully participate in the tasks scheduled for those three days.

According to the Viseu City Council, candidates must be over 18 years old, have Portuguese nationality and have at least the 12th year, with a specialty in information technologies. Registration is open until May 10th and can be done on the municipality’s website.
