Barcelos will celebrate 50 years since April 25, 1974 with the first edition of “Que Força é essa”, which brings concerts by local bands, such as Black Bombaim and Solar Corona, to the city center.

According to the organization of the initiative, in a statement released today, Black Bombaim, Indignu, Solar Corona, Cálculo, Tresor&Bosxh + Belladona&Lombwa, Glass Eyed Momma and Raio de Sol (dj set) are the projects that will perform on Wednesday, starting from 5:30 pm, in Dr. Martins Lima and Dr. José Novais squares.

The first edition of “Que Força é essa”, free entry, runs until 2 am on Thursday.

According to the organization, “the objective is for this day to be a milestone of freedom and exaltation of the great musical potential that the city has demonstrated in recent decades, which has affirmed bands and musicians in the national musical panorama”.

Wednesday’s concerts “were entirely designed and programmed in close dialogue with some of the artists who represent this movement”.

In addition to the concerts, the initiative includes the Barcelos Record Fair, “where all local artists can put their work on sale”.

“What strength is this” is part of the program for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April 1974, promoted by the Barcelos City Council, which extend throughout the year and, “involving multiple local entities, include a diverse range of events” to “mark this important milestone in Portugal’s recent history”.
