With Spring comes “Renaissance”. This is the idea that Carolina Bernal wants to convey with the exhibition that will open next Saturday, April 27th, at 5 pm, at Casa dos Coimbras, in Braga. The exhibition will be on view until May 24th.

This is the first time that the Colombian artist presents her work in Portugal. “I have lived in Braga for 12 years and I already knew Casa dos Coimbras, but I had never been to the restaurant. It was during lunch that I chanced upon the curator Santiago Belacqua, while he was preparing an exhibition, and I ended up asking if I, too, could present my work”, says Carolina Bernal, admitting that she felt “moved” by the oportunity.

Through almost two dozen works, the artist links spring to the “rebirth of life”, with representations of trees highlighted. The exhibition will also feature “two of the [seus] favorite paintings” with the 25 de Abril Bridge, he adds.

Carolina Bernal held her first oil exhibition at the Universidad del Bosque, in Bogotá, Colombia. Since then, the artist has participated in several exhibitions and events around the world, including the Casa de la Cultura, in Tabío, Colombia, and the “Chinafest” festival, in Barcelona, Spain.

Currently, the Colombian continues to dedicate herself to her passion for art and constantly seeks inspiration and new forms of expression in her work. Her artistic journey is marked by an ongoing deep exploration of the beauty and complexity of the world around her.
