PSP intensifies inspection of TVDE at Gago Coutinho Airport in Faro

The Faro District Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) informs in a statement that, within the monitoring and inspection actions carried out permanently within the scope of road legislation, it cyclically carries out operations specifically aimed at TVDE activity, throughout its area of jurisdiction.

As this activity is especially intense near Gago Coutinho Airport, the Airport Security and Border Control Division carries out a significant number of these operations, the last one being carried out in the morning of last Tuesday, April 23rd, with 5 recorded infractions and corresponding notices raised“, explains the Faro PSP Command.

As infractions continue to be identified in these operations specifically dedicated to TVDE – during the year 2023 and only with regards directly to Gago Coutinho Airport, 60 infractions were sanctioned – these will be especially intensified throughout the upcoming summer period, alongside the Airport and other cities within the jurisdiction of this District Command“, the police force also says about the inspection actions.

The PSP recommends that all drivers who engage in this activity of individual passenger transport in unmarked vehicles (TVDE), “that fully respect the applicable legal regulations, both when carrying out their activity at the airport and in other locations in the Algarve“, the letter reads.
