Coimbra is preparing to host the 32nd edition of FESTUNA – International Tunas Festival, in collaboration between the Coimbra City Council and the Coimbra University Student of the Fado Section of the Coimbra Academic Association. This event, already a cultural milestone at the Coimbra Academy and in the city, will take place on the weekend of the 3rd to the 5th of May, at Jardim da Sereia, returning to its original date.
With the theme of celebrating the 50th anniversary of April 25th, FESTUNA promises to be a moment of cultural promotion, with the participation of academic groups from all over the country. Furthermore, several activities linked to Coimbra culture are planned, with the expected participation of the student community and all residents and visitors to the city.
The program includes a Night of Serenades at Colégio da Trindade, on the 3rd of May, followed by the Academic Soiree and the Tunas Festival at Jardim da Sereia, on the 4th of May. On the 5th of May, the farewells to the Tunas of Coimbra will take place in the Academic Association Gardens.
With the tradition and brilliance that characterize this event, FESTUNA 2024 promises to celebrate academic and musical culture, enriching the cultural life of the city of Coimbra.
