A moment of “Cante de Abril” is planned by Cantadores do Desassossego and Grupo Coral de Baleizão, followed by the inauguration of the exhibition “Beja in the April Revolution” curated by Constantino Piçarra. After the intervention of the Mayor of Beja, Paulo Arsénio, a guided tour of the exhibition and the distribution of the book published as part of the exhibition will follow.

Once the visit has concluded, the Grupo de Cantadores de Nª Sª das Neves, the Cantadores do Desassossego and the Grupo Coral de Baleizão will sing “Grândola Vila Morena”.

From 12.30 pm the 3 choral groups will parade through Portas de Mértola. This is an initiative promoted by the Chamber of Beja and comes as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April.

Before the inauguration, at 10.30 am, there is a moment next to nº 5 on Avenida Vasco da Gama, Former Headquarters of Pide/DGS, in Beja, in April 1974, with interventions by Constantino Piçarra, curator of the exhibition and Conceição Casanova, president of the Municipal Assembly of Beja. There is also “Cante de Abril”, by the Grupo de Cantadores de Nª Sª das Neves.
