“They planted freedom in us. We didn’t let her die. Freedom is nothing more than an opportunity to be better; A carnation a woman; Those born into freedom do not know what it is to be free; Power is a disguise.
Corruption is the truth; Freedom comes from fulfillment, not from oppression.” These are some of the messages that can be read in the works that make up the exhibition that has been on display to the public, at the Fátima Public Library, since the beginning of the week.
“Narrativas de Abril”, as the exhibition is called, was created by students in the 11th and 12th years of the Design, Ceramics and Sculpture course with its own Plan and the Visual Education discipline of the 2nd cycle at Colégio de São Miguel. It also counts on the collaboration of 11th year students on the course with that school’s own Social Action Plan. It results from an invitation to reflect on the historical, political, economic and social impact of April 25, 1974 and its main purpose is to highlight to the community, especially younger people, the inestimable importance of this event.
The exhibition can be visited until May 10th, from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 5:30pm. Entry is free.
