H-INNOVA is integrated into the H-INNOVA Health INNOVAtion HUB, an accelerator that aims to promote innovation in the health sector, through the involvement of universities, research centers, hospitals, and companies, in an integrated ecosystem.

The government official mentioned, in the closing session of the event “SHT-Science to Health to Tech – H-INNOVA”, that the involvement of the Autonomous Region in projects linked to technology, in this specific case in health, places Madeira in a “privileged position” in caring for the population and users in particular.

One of the examples given by Rui Barreto was the H-INNOVA project, which the governor considered puts the Region at the “technological forefront” in the health area, “with a view to improving efficiency, quality and improvement of care to be provided ” to Madeirans and Porto Santos, but also to those who visit the Region and who may “need medical attention and care”.

Rui Barreto highlighted that the new hospital in Madeira, which is already under construction, “will be an international reference for its technology combined with the humanism of its professionals and their competence”.

The Secretary of Economy, Sea and Fisheries highlighted that the investments that have been made in the technological and telecommunications areas mean that the Region presents, today, “unique conditions in these areas, projecting regional institutions, such as the University, ARDITI and the Startup Madeira and, at the same time, attracting entities and companies to settle in the archipelago, whose geographical nature is no longer a synonym of isolation, becoming a platform connecting the entire world”.
