“Kung Fu Panda 4” continues to be a hit in Portuguese cinemas and surpasses “Dune: Part 2” in the number of spectators.
In the second week of “Kung Fu Panda 4” in theaters, We looked at the weekly rankings available on the official website of the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual (ICA) to understand which films were most popular with the Portuguese public between the 21st and 27th of March and how this changed the Top most viewed films.
This week, four new premieres gained direct entry into this hotly contested Top 10, leaving behind the films: Poor Creatures (11th), by Yorgos Lanthimos; Love in Blood (13th), by Rose Glass; Priscilla (20th), by Sofia Coppola; Madame Web, by SJ Clarkson.
With several position changes and new entries, these were the most watched films in Portugal this week:
10. OPPENHEIMER, BY CHRISTOPHER NOLAN
Synopsis: One thriller which dives deep into the mind of the unique J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist involved in creating the atomic bomb during World War II. A revolutionary invention that symbolized the maximum capacity of human ingenuity, capable of remaking civilization and, at the same time, threatening the future of humanity. Winner of 7 Oscars, this epic by Christopher Nolan investigates the paradox of the man who, to save the world, needed to risk destroying it.

1. PANDA FROM KUNG FU 4, BY MIKE MITCHELL
Synopsis: After three death-defying adventures, defeating world-class villains with his unmatched courage and mad martial arts skills, Po the Dragon Warrior is summoned by fate to… get some rest. More specifically, he is chosen to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. This raises some obvious problems. First, Po knows as much about spiritual leadership as he does about the paleo diet, and second, he needs to quickly find and train a new Dragon Warrior before assuming his new high position. Worse still, there was a recent glimpse of an evil and powerful sorceress, The Chameleon, a small lizard who can shapeshift into any creature, large or small.
