“Civil War” with Kirsten Dunst is now the most watched film, surpassing the biopic “Black to Black” about singer Amy Winehouse.

Now is the time to look at the weekly rankings available on the official website of the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual (ICA) to understand which films most pleased the Portuguese public between the 4th and 10th of April and how this changed the Top of the most viewed.

This week, only two new releases achieved direct entry into this disputed Top 10, leaving behind the films: Sleeping Dogs (11th), by Adam Cooper and The Evil Genius: The Beginning (14th), by Arkasha Stevenson

In a week marked by yet another weak turnout at cinemas in general, “Back to Black” lost its strength and ended up being dethroned from the top spot after a week on the throne. The throne now belongs to “Civil War”, the controversial film starring Kirsten Dunst, which won 20,796 spectatorsa result still below what we have seen in recent weeks.

With changes in position and a new leader, these were the most watched films in Portugal this week:


10. CABRINI, BY ALEJANDRO GÓMEZ MONTEVERDE

Synopsis: The epic of Francesca Cabrini, an Italian immigrant who arrives in New York, in 1889, in a scenario of illness, crime and poverty. Cabrini sets out on a mission to convince the hostile mayor to guarantee housing and healthcare for society’s most vulnerable. With poor English and poor health, Cabrini uses his entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope like the world has never seen. In 34 years, Francesca Cabrini managed to build 67 hospitals, orphanages and schools.

9. THE THREE MUSKETEERS: MILADY, BY MARTIN BOURBOULON

Synopsis: Constance is kidnapped before D’Artagnan’s eyes. In a frantic search to save her, the young musketeer is forced to join forces with the mysterious Milady de Winter. When war is declared and Athos, Porthos and Aramis have joined the front, a terrible secret from the past destroys all old alliances. 7. A SINGULAR LIFE, BY JAMES HAWES

With different origins and motivations, April 25, 1974 brought them a common destiny. The day that changed the course of the country also dictated the early end of their lives. This is the story of their lives, a story where we can all revisit each other’s memories a little and confirm that there is a common root in the different generations.
