Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will perform at Meo Arena in Lisbon, on October 27th, as part of the tour to present the new album, “Wild God”, according to the dates announced this Friday on the Australian musician’s website.

The concert in Lisbon closes the Iberian leg of this Nick Cave tour, after performances on October 24th, at the Palau Sant Jordi, in Barcelona, and on October 25th, at the WiZink Center, in Madrid.

“The Wild God Tour”, Nick Cave’s first European tour since 2017, begins on September 24th in Oberhausen, Germany, and ends on November 17th, in Paris. It includes 27 concerts in 17 countries, from Ireland to Poland, with a stopover of around two weeks in Great Britain, for performances in six cities in England and Scotland, at the beginning of November.

At the concerts, Nick Cave will play new material alongside songs from his repertoire.

The first part of the shows will be performed by one of the three guest bands: the British Dry Cleaning and Black Country, New Road, as well as the Irish The Murder Capital.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are Thomas Wydler, Martyn Casey, Jim Sclavunos, Warren Ellis and George Vjestica, as well as Nick Cave himself.

“Wild God”, the 18th studio album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, was announced last week, and is scheduled for release on August 30th.

Produced by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, the album includes 10 new songs and will have the Bad Seed label, with the collaboration of Play It Again Sam, being available in streaming, CD and vinyl, this limited edition.

“I hope the album has the effect [nos ouvintes] that it had in me: it bursts from my spine and I’m swept away by it”, says Cave, quoted in the presentation statement. “It’s a complicated album, but it’s also profound and joyfully infectious. There’s never a master plan when we make a record. The records rather reflect the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this one, I don’t know, it sounds like we’re happy.”

The theme that gives the new album its name is now available on digital platforms.

“The Wild God Tour” follows Nick Cave’s solo tour of Australia, to be held in April and May. It passes through the cities of Oberhausen, Amsterdam and Berlin, in September, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lodz, Krakow, Budapest, Zagreb, Prague, Munich, Milan, Zurich, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon and Antwerp, in October, and Leeds, Glasgow, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, London, Dublin, Birmingham and Paris, in November.
