“I go to visit my father and he gets all silly. He says that the police officers there talk about me to him, that I went to Neymar’s house. Imagine for him. He suffered a lot, he’s there, paying for everything he did. Nobody can say anything. It’s my father. Tramp says a lot of shit, wanting to ‘blacken’ my image because of him. The shit he did, he did it, I have nothing to do with it” , said Oruam to “Summer Podpah”: “I rocked not talking to my father, I rocked with my music, alone”, he adds.

Marcinho VP

Márcio dos Santos Nepomuceno, known as Marcinho VP, has been a prominent figure in Rio’s crime scene for almost three decades. Imprisoned since 1996, when he was still 20 years old, he spent more time behind bars than in freedom. During the rotation, he was transferred from Rio Grande do Norte to Mato Grosso do Sul, the opposite way from Beira-Mar.

Even from within the prison system, he became, alongside Fernandinho Beira-Mar, one of the main leaders of the largest faction in the state. Born in Vigário Geral, Márcio moved as a baby to São João de Meriti, in Baixada Fluminense. His father was murdered shortly afterwards, and his mother was arrested four times, meaning that he and three brothers ended up being raised by an aunt.

Márcio’s convictions for drug trafficking and homicide total 44 years in prison. One of the crimes credited to him is the death of his partner Márcio Amaro de Oliveira, curiously also known as Marcinho VP. Amaro was found strangled in a trash can in the Bangu 3 prison, in the West Zone of Rio. The execution was reportedly motivated by interviews given by the criminal revealing details of the operation of drug trafficking in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
