The Federal District celebrates next Wednesday (27) the official day of Rock Brasiliense with programming in Renato Russo Cultural Space. The event starts at 6pm and will feature a formal session, musical attractions and exhibitions. The date was included in the official DF calendar in honor of the birthday of Renato Russo, former lead singer of the band Legião Urbana.

“We have a fantastic legacy, we need to value it and always be proud of it. This is a construction that began with the recognition of rock as intangible heritage, another law of mine. Now, we have our date, and we will help in the construction of the Brazilian rock museum here, in our federal capital”, says District Deputy, Ricardo Vale (PT).

The celebration will feature exhibitions curated by Jailson Dantas and Dom Macarius. The objective is to bring a small sample with physical material, vinyl LPs and photographs that illustrate the history of the genre in the city. The shows will be performed by five original bands from DF.
