LORDI, one of the biggest names in Finnish heavy/hard rock, made an unusual appearance in a shoot for the fashion magazine Vogue Scandinavia.
Properly dressed in their typical monster costumes, the group made a single demand to the magazine: that all bags in the editorial be made 100% from vegan materials.

According to the Reigning Phoenix Music website, the band’s demand was no surprise, as they are supporters of the group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), a non-governmental organization founded in 1980 that is dedicated to animal rights.
Also according to the website, the group’s leader and vocalist, Mr. Lordi, would have said: “We are all free from animal cruelty, from the makeup we use on our masks to the materials in our clothes. We are all fierce defenders of animals, all band members have pets.” Mr. Lordi, in addition to having a dog, keeps at least ten snakes.

And how did Vogue, a giant outlet in the fashion world, receive the group’s demands? “The animal-loving rockers’ request to use exclusively vegan bags only made this feature more charming and perfectly aligned with Vogue Scandinavia’s sustainable values,” said editor-in-chief Martina Bonnier.
LORDI’s latest release was “Screem Writers Guild” (2023), available in Brazil via Shinigami Records.
