Then, it entered the group’s “new phase” – which has already lasted 24 years, by the way. Next came “Only the Brave”, from the album “Tygers of Pan Tang” (2016), “Fire on the Horizon”, from the album “Bloodlines” (2023), and “Destiny”, from “Rituals” (2019 ). All songs created by the current lineup, which includes, in addition to Weir, vocalist Jacopo Meille, guitarist Francesco Marras and drummer Craig Ellis. Bassist Huw Holding is the group’s newcomer, having joined in 2021.

The energy expended by the band, however, was the same, regardless of the age of the music presented. Meille, for example, overflowed with tracks from phases prior to his administration, such as “Euthanasia” and “Suzie Smiled”, from the first album, “Wild Cat” (1980). Marras and Weir kept their guitars low-key, letting Meille run the show.

The closing, of course, was with the band’s great classic, the cover of “Love Potion nº 9”, from the album “The Cage” (1987).

This dynamic, of mixing classics with new things, set the tone of the set list, showing that Tygers of Pan Tang respects its history, but remembers that it is still alive and still has a lot of wood to burn.
