Microsoft has improved the integration between Windows 11 and Android, with the option to edit cell phone screenshots using the Microsoft system Capture Tool app. Released this week to PCs, the update also brings support for USB 4 ports and, as usual, corrects flaws in the operating system.

The new features appeared in update KB5035853, also known as the “March 2024 rollup.” In addition to the security improvements, the update guarantees some new features for Link to Cellular, an app that integrates Windows and Android.

Editing Android screenshots on Windows 11

According to program manager on the Windows team Ana Jelacic, the Link to Mobile settings page has a new name: “Mobile Devices”. The software also gained the ability to edit Android screenshots on the computer using the Capture Tool, Windows 11’s native screenshot editor.

This way, you don’t need to send the image to your computer to later edit it or access it through the Link to Phone gallery. Simply access the file through the notification issued on Windows when you take a screenshot on Android and apply the necessary adjustments.

Despite the debut in the March 2024 package, it should still take some time for the news to reach all users. During tests carried out by Canaltechthree computers have received the update, but the new features are still unavailable.

USB 4 port support

Microsoft has also started to roll out support for USB 4, which promises transfer rates of 80 Gb/s on computers with the technology. This feature, it is worth remembering, has been in the testing phase since January, when it was released to members of the Windows Insider experimental program.

The package also brought improvements for switching from mobile networks to Wi-Fi on computers that support 4G and 5G natively and for suspending the computer when external devices are connected.
