TOnce the first quarter of 2024 is over, it is time to take stock of the first year with regards to the automobile market in Portugal. Which brands grew the most in the first three months of this year?

Mitsubishi was, by far, the brand that recorded the most growth from January to March 2024. With 1,325 units, the Japanese brand in Portugal recorded a 289.7% increase in sales in this first quarter of 2024 when compared to the same period in last year.

Honda, Jeep, MG and DS are also on a positive note. On the other hand, there are brands that don’t have as many reasons to smile at the beginning of the year.

Mazda, for example, is the one that decreased the most compared to the first quarter of 2023. The Japanese brand sold 167 units in the first three months of the year, which results in a drop of 64.8%.

Jaguar, Polestar, Ford and Volkswagen also ‘fell’ when the 2024 numbers are compared with those of 2023. Take a look at the table below and understand the units registered by the brands that grew the most and those that had a less positive record in the first quarter of 2024.
