Director-General of Health says that Portugal has 20 confirmed cases of measles

Rita Sá Machado asks people to look at their vaccination records.

The Director-General of Health confirmed that Portugal has twenty cases of Measles, while also highlighting the high vaccination coverage against this disease.

“In terms of Measles, we have high national coverage rates. We currently have 20 cases of Measles disease confirmed in Portugal”, said Rita Sá Machado, on the sidelines of a ceremony in Arronches, in the district of Portalegre.

“We need to act so that people continue to get vaccinated and to get vaccinated in a timely manner. If we are to vaccinate at one year of age, we should not vaccinate at one year and three months”, he added.

For the person responsible, it is still important that people confirm their situation.

“Look at the bulletins and see, according to the year of birth, whether they have two doses of vaccine or just one dose”, he appealed.
