Fabrizio Romano, an Italian freelance journalist who became world famous for being considered the transfer guru in the world of football, is suspected of having sent messages to clubs in Norway and Denmark asking for money in exchange for advertising some of their players with publications on social media, taking advantage of the great fame he has on the Internet.

According to the Norwegian portal ‘Idrettspolitikk.no’ this Friday, which cites exclusive statements by Mehran Amundsen-Ansari, former marketing director of Valerenga, a club that currently plays in Norway’s second division, the transfer market specialist had a company that represented him and sent emails to Nordic clubs in exchange for promoting their players.

Regarding this topic, the former employee of the Norwegian club told the aforementioned portal that he had received a proposal in this regard in 2022, when that Nordic emblem was still active in the first division. “I remember going to bed that day and thinking that it didn’t make any sense. There were a few emails that were exchanged back and forth,” he revealed.

According to this source, the aforementioned emails were sent by a company linked to Fabrizio Romano, which in the messages sent to the clubs made explicit the various types of services that the Italian journalist offered at the time, in which a simple mention on social media it could reach 11,600 Norwegian kroner (around 1,000 euros in current conversion).
