FC Porto, Benfica, Oliveirense and OC Barcelos in the Taa Final-Four :: zerozero.pt

The teams that will compete in the tournament have been found. Final-Four of the Portuguese Cup: FC Porto, Benfica, Oliveirense and OC Barcelos will compete between April 27th and 28th, in Barcelos for the trophy that was won in the last edition by SC Tomar.

In the most anticipated game, Oliveirense beat Sporting impeccably 5-1. Edo Bosch’s team, which had gone three straight without winning – two defeats against Benfica and FC Porto and a draw at Trissino – had a practically perfect game. Despite Ferran Font’s equalizer, still in the first half, the Oliveirense team went into the break winning.

In the second half, Lucas Martinez and Diogo Abreu tried to increase the score, taking advantage of Sporting’s higher lines. Xano Edo was superb between the posts and stopped everything.

In Espinho, Académica was the sensational group of this edition of the Cup, but OC Barcelos were not fooling around. Five minutes into the game he had already scored two goals and managed to score. Rui Neto’s team is in a phase of gaining confidence and leaving nothing undone. The game was 0-11 and the highlights of the goals were Vieirinha and Alvarinho with three goals each.

In the Azores, at the home of Candelária, Benfica also performed at a very high level, after the midweek European defeat in Barcelos. At half-time, the Eagles were already leading 0-5 and ended the 50 minutes with a robust 1-7 victory.

At Dragão Arena, FC Porto received and did not tremble against the defending cup champion, SC Tomar. The game was more divided until FC Porto scored the third goal, in the 29th minute, through Carlo di Benedetto. Filipe Almeida had just reduced the score for the Nabantinos and the dragons managed to nullify the hopes of Nuno Lopes’ boys.

With full management of the game, the dragons increased the result until reaching 6-2.
