RThis Thursday, icardo Quaresma gave an extensive interview to Canal 11, in which, among other topics, he spoke about the final stretch of his football career.
Without a club since the 2021/22 season when he was with Vitória SC, Ricardo Quaresma admits that he is considering whether to continue his career or not, admitting three clubs where he would like to say goodbye to football.
“My career was already ready to continue. Honestly, now I’m at that stage whether it’s worth continuing or not. It all depends if something comes along that I like, it won’t last this year either”, Quaresma began by saying.
“I would like to end up at one of the clubs where I was happy. At Besiktas, I might have that opportunity. I often came back without thinking. At FC Porto, I already know I won’t have a chance. At Sporting, much less. When I left Turkey for Portugal, If I wanted to return to FC Porto, I would have done so a long time ago. At Sporting, there was never even that possibility”, continued the Portuguese international.
Asked about his time at Vitória SC, between 2020/21 and 2021/22, Quaresma confessed that he didn’t “use the club well”
“At Vitória SC I didn’t take advantage of the club and the club didn’t take advantage of me. Because of the pandemic I couldn’t feel the fans, which was sad. They are fantastic, although the club still has to improve in a lot of ways. Do it rain or shine they are there. They are annoying, they are never happy with anything, but you can’t criticize them because they are always there”, he concluded.
