Pep Guardiola is being criticized for the scolding he gave Jack Grealish shortly after Manchester City’s draw against Arsenal (0-0), in a game played on Sunday. Ian Ladyman, journalist for the Daily Mail, points the finger at the Catalan coach and accuses him of creating “theatre” for the “cameras”.
“Pep Guardiola seems to like this kind of thing, lecturing players when he’s in public. He went after Jack Grealish in front of 40 or 50 people, plus those watching on television. I have to say that I didn’t like and that I thought was unnecessary. It’s theater”, Ian Ladyman began by saying, continuing.
“That was on camera or so it seemed. He can wait until he gets to the locker room. I have a soft spot for Jack, I think he’s a really genuine guy who cares about his football. He was being devastated in public by the coach. Grealish looked disgusted by that. I don’t know why Guardiola did that”, lamented the English journalist from the Daily Mail.
