Fenerbahçe held an Extraordinary General Assembly this Tuesday to make a decision on the club’s possible exit from the Turkish league. In an action that brought together more than 20 thousand fans at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, the decision was postponed until three months from now, so Fenerbahçe will compete in this edition of the championship until the end.

Fenerbahçe fans filled the venue to decide the fates of the yellow canaries in the Turkish league, after the events of the game between this team and Trabzonspor. Faced with disrespect during the match, Fenerbahçe’s directors threatened to abandon the championship.

After hours of meeting, the president of the Turkish club addressed the fans to announce the postponement of the decision until three months from now, since, among all the possibilities, the one the management least preferred was “giving up on the Turkish league”.

«We will take this option off the table until the GA which will take place in three months. There are some opinions here: as long as we have a chance to be champion, we will continue until the end of the season without giving up. We will evaluate the situation of withdrawing from the league next season,” he added.

Despite this, President Ali Koç presented two options: the first would involve absence of the Turkish Cup for the next two years and the second by absence of the Super Cup or dispute the same with the juniors.
