National team faces England, Spain and France
This Wednesday, Portugal found out its opponents in the group stage of the Under-17 European Championship and the draw… was not friendly. The National Team fell into the ‘group of death’ with Spain, England and France.
The competition will take place in Cyprus between May 20th and June 5th and the first two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
João Santos, national coach, reacted to the draw with serenity. “We have already had success with some of these teams this season, namely Spain and England. We haven’t played with France yet. If we are worried, we believe that the other teams will also be with us”, he said.
