Realme 12x 5G has several details leaked by certifications

Realme should expand its numbered family of mid-range smartphones soon with the Realme 12x 5G, a model that has just been found in several certifications, having a good amount of leaked specifications. Following what was seen with the previous generation, the device should debut as a simplified version of the traditional Realme 12 5G, suffering some cuts in aspects such as screen size, set of cameras and battery.

Among the documents found, we highlight the certificates from the FCC, the equivalent of Anatel in the USA, the Bluetooth SIG, the consortium responsible for managing the specifications of wireless transmission technology, and the Camera FV-5, an app that promises to provide greater control over the cell phone lens with features inspired by professional cameras. They all mention the model number RMX3997, in addition to there being direct mentions of the name Realme 12x 5G.

According to the records, the device will support NFC and will leave the factory already updated with the Android 14 operating system, running under the Realme UI 5.0 interface. Another interesting point revealed by the files is a design sketch, which should follow that seen in other devices in the family by including a circular camera module inspired by luxury watches.

The differences compared to the standard Realme 12 seem to start with the battery, which would be slightly smaller with 4,900 mAh of capacity, instead of 5,000 mAh. More drastic reductions would have been made in charging, which would drop from 45 W to just 15 W — a curious point, since the Realme 11X and even more basic devices from the brand feature 33 W recharging. Other than that, we would have a modest reduction in the size of the battery. screen, which would go from 6.72 inches to 6.67 inches.

Still according to the certifications, the new phone would maintain support for Bluetooth 5.3, but would adopt a simpler 50 MP main camera, instead of the 108 MP sensor present in the traditional model. Its focal length would follow the average of other cell phones at 28 mm, as would the f/1.8 aperture, large enough to guarantee good light capture, in theory.

If the strategy adopted with the Realme 11x is maintained, the Realme 12x 5G should be presented as a simpler version of the Realme 12. Therefore, it can be speculated that, with the exception of the cuts shown in the documents, the rest of the technical sheet will be identical between the two phones, and should include a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus processor, up to 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and a Full HD+ screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

There is no information on a launch date at the moment, but the large number of documents indicates that the device’s unveiling may be close. We should still have more leaks in the coming days.
