UA patent submitted by Microsoft indicates that the Redmond technology company is working on a new technology that could revolutionize screens and monitors as we know them today.

The patent in question was spotted by the Windows Report website and is called “Pixel Luminesce for Digital Display”, being described as a way for a user to customize the brightness of the screen. In theory, this technology will allow parts of the screen to remain brighter, while others remain dimmer.

It is not yet known whether this technology will ever be applied to screens and monitors launched on the market, but if it happens, it could happen dynamically and be an argument for valuing the ‘gaming’ segment.
