During the month of April, the United States will witness a total Solar Eclipse. The phenomenon can be observed from much of North America, but the USA is particularly concerned about the Eclipse. Schools in the state of Texas will close for the day, and authorities recommend stocking up on fuel, water and food.

You might wonder, but what causes so much concern? O The problem is not the total Solar Eclipse, but rather the huge flow of tourists for the Texas region. In other words, authorities expect a huge movement of enthusiasts, which is expected to overload transport and health services.

According to estimates from the United States, some small cities in Texas are expected to triple their population. Many of them do not have the structure to accommodate the large number of tourists. Therefore, the local government decided to close schools and sent a warning about the need to stock up on food during the total Solar Eclipse.

During the last Solar Eclipse in Brazil, Brazilian surfer Ítalo Ferreira took an incredible photo of the moment. With the chance to see a rarer phenomenon than the traditional Lunar Eclipse, it’s no surprise that so many tourists are looking for the best place to watch.

Total solar eclipse happens in April and will be seen in North America

The director of the Lorain County Emergency Management Agency, Dave Freeman, says that small towns in Texas do not have the appropriate structure to receive tourists in search of the total Solar Eclipse.

What we may have are crowds here that we are not used to. We are not prepared for this. Many of the roads here are two lanes

Furthermore, he highlighted: “This isn’t Chicago, this isn’t Cleveland, where we have a lot of four-lane, six-lane roads coming in, so traffic can be pretty extreme here if we get more crowds than we expect.“.

Finally, if the number of tourists in the Texas region reaches estimates, local authorities also believe that telephone and internet services will also be compromised. As we can see, expectations for a total Solar Eclipse in the USA are high. While some people will enjoy it, others will be worried in their homes.

The rare phenomenon takes place on April 8th and will last approximately 4 minutes and 26 seconds. Some regions of Canada also witnessed the phenomenon, but with a shorter duration, around 3 minutes.
