PIt appears that Apple may have to adopt further measures in the European Union as a result of the entry into force of the Digital Markets Act. According to statements by the European Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager, Apple may have to give users the option to delete certain applications.

“According to Article 6(3) of the Digital Markets Law, ‘gatekeepers’ have an obligation to allow easy uninstallation of applications and easy changes to default settings. They should also require a choice screen. Apple’s compliance model does not seem to meet the objectives of this obligation. Apple also failed to allow the uninstallation of several applications (one of them being Photos)”can be read in Vestager’s statements.

It is worth remembering that, within the scope of the Digital Markets Law, Apple has already made some changes. Among them is not only the possibility of allowing you to change the Internet browser that is opened by default, but also the possibility of using other virtual stores in addition to the App Store.

Taking into account these statements by Vestager, it is possible that the ‘Apple Company’ will have to take further measures.
