Adriano Luz is the winner of the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Theater, an award he received on the night of this Sunday, October 2, at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon.

The actor received the award for his participation in the comedy “One, two three!”, by Ferenc Molnár. The play was written in 1929, after the Hungarian writer’s first trip to the United States, and tells a story that revolves around capitalist practices in a year in which the New York Stock Exchange crashed, on a day that became known as “Black Thursday” and which gave rise to a serious economic crisis.

In the plot, Adriano Luz plays Norrison, head of a leading banking group, whose life was going well and who was preparing for a family vacation in the mountains. However, her life takes a hit when Lydia – the daughter of an American millionaire with whom Norrison wants to close a deal and who has been spending a few months in Europe in the care of the Norrison family – decides to secretly marry a communist taxi driver.

Faced with the imminent visit of Lydia’s parents, and lest they discover that their daughter has married a communist from a lower social class, Norrison has just one hour to ‘transform’ the taxi driver into the president of the Union of Car.

The play was produced by Ar de Filmes/Teatro do Bairro and was on stage between December 1, 2021 and January 16, 2022.
