Coldplay surprise young man who fell from the 4th floor on the eve of the concert in Coimbra

João Sargento, a 22-year-old young man, traveled to Coimbra in May 2023 to attend the long-awaited concert by Coldplay, his favorite band. Everything indicated that it would be a memorable night, however, on the eve of the concert, his life took an unexpected turn.

While staying the night at a friend’s house, João decided to go to the balcony to smoke and, without explanation, ended up falling from the 4th floor, from a height equivalent to 12 meters. The accident left him with a traumatic brain injury and several fractures, drastically changing his life.

After months in the hospital and physiotherapy, João faced the harsh reality of not being able to walk. His story moved the production of the program “Casa Feliz”, which invited him to share his experience. During the interview, João recalled the terrible accident and the entire recovery process he went through.

Despite having missed the opportunity to attend the Coldplay concert, João was surprised by the program’s presenters. The young man received tickets for a future band concert, offered by Coldplay, after the program’s production team sent an email with João’s moving story.

Emotion and surprise took over João at this unexpected gesture. A moment that brought him hope and joy, even after the challenges he faced.
