The popular jury of the two accused of the murder of Tauana Letícia Fachini is scheduled for this Thursday (14). The young woman was 17 years old when she was the target of a shooting attack in Blumenau. According to the investigation, her boyfriend hired a friend to murder her, as he suspected he was being cheated on. The crime occurred a decade ago and the pair are free.

According to the process, Tauana’s boyfriend promised to pay R$3,000 to his friend for the murder. In the early hours of December 20, 2013, the young woman was on the back of a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend — and the mastermind of the crime — when the two were approached by a couple on another motorcycle. The hitchhiker shot the victim three times and once in her boyfriend’s leg.
According to the investigation, the person who shot was the boyfriend’s friend and the person riding the motorcycle to help him was a teenager also hired for the crime. The idea of shooting his boyfriend in the leg would have come from him, to mislead the authorities as to who was responsible for the murder. The process states that the weapon used was supplied by the boyfriend to the shooter hours before the attack.
The boyfriend, aged 22 at the time, and the friend he hired are accused of murder. They were arrested, but were allowed to go free. If convicted, they could face up to 20 years in prison.

Tauana Letícia Fachini was dead on Rua Professor Max Humpl, in the Salto do Norte neighborhood. Firefighters found the young woman in cardiorespiratory arrest, with gunshot wounds to the chest and armpit. Despite treatment, she died at the scene. Her boyfriend was injured in the leg, not seriously. That morning, the Military Police carried out patrols in the region, but no suspects were located.
Upon learning the date of the jury for those responsible for her daughter’s death, Fátima Regina vented on a social network: “Today I am half a person, they took away a part of me. And March 14, 2024 will be the trial of these two individuals who, in all the years that I have been visiting my daughter’s grave, have lived normally as if nothing had happened. May the punishment of these criminals bear the weight of the cowardice they committed against my daughter.”
