Electricity: price increases 18% in the last year, but there are positive signs

-

The price of electricity has increased by 18% in the last year, but there are positive signs. At the beginning of this year, electricity is being produced at a lower cost than expected, which could lower prices for consumers.

It was foreseen by Energy Services Regulatory Authority that, during this year, electricity cost, on average, 90 euros for each MegaWatt hour, but in recent times the production of light has cost much less.

Forecasts show that there should be some stability in prices at least until summer, because the dams have good water reserves and because there has been wind to produce from the wind farms.

This eventual decline in the regulated market could lead free market operators to launch campaigns and lower prices to prevent customer flight.

At the beginning of this year, there was an increase in bills, but most customers were not concerned. Only one in five consumers was looking for solutions to pay less.

There is an indicator on your electricity bill that can tell you right away if you are paying more than you should. Changing operator is also a simple and free process.

The price of electricity is one of the factors that has put pressure on inflation, which is also why the decline has been slower in recent months.
