Fernanda Lima used social media to talk about how she has been dealing with the pain of her mother’s death, Maria Tereza Pereira. She was 80 years old and died a week ago — on Saturday, March 9 — from pancreatic cancer. “It seems like yesterday, it seems like an eternity ago, it seems like a lie. I find myself sending you photos of Maria and I come to my senses. I watch your videos. There are so many… In all, happy, impressive! What a desire to live! How generous!” , wrote this Saturday (16).

The presenter says that the loss of her mother brought new reflections. “It’s funny that with your game the chips fall without stopping. I remember situations, clashes, happy and sad moments and how you had the flexibility to deal with everything. Your way of dealing, of appeasing and also of suffering in silence, without letting anything spill over no one. So beautiful. So soft.”

Fernanda also recalled the period in which her mother was hospitalized. “It was revealing to take care of you during those days when we were glued together. Holding your hand during every discomfort took me to the public hospital in Porto Alegre when you took me to get stitches on my forehead when I was 7 years old. The stretcher chilled my thin body, contrasted by the warmth of your hand in mine. Without letting go for a second. Just as I held your fragile hand while the nurses looked for a stubborn vein to pierce in your wrist. Bathing you, drying you, brushing your teeth, it reminded me of the wet winter gaucho mornings in Porto I was happy when you woke me up for Sunday school. I couldn’t do anything because I was so sleepy and you dressed me and held my hand, moving the toothbrush, singing softly, funny, patient and playful as always.”

The presenter said she had several memories. “I would write so many things. The words jump over each other wanting to tell your life. I think a book would come out of me with so many memories, associations and gratitude for your sweet and dedicated time. I honor you, mother!”
