FIRST HAND: 36-year-old man found dead inside his house in Vilhena was murdered, tests carried out on his body reveal

Examinations carried out by a coroner on the body of the 36-year-old man, found dead today, inside his home in the Vila Operária neighborhood, in Vilhena, revealed that he was murdered. When publishing the case, FOLHA DO SUL ON LINE reported that this was one of the hypotheses (SEE HERE).

According to the website, the fatal shot against boiler operator João Batista Araújo came from a 32 caliber gun and not from the air rifle found in the house, which was not loaded and was not even fired. He was probably being threatened and had his father’s gun with him to try to scare the person.

The shot at the victim would have been made at close range. The shot burned João Batista’s arm before reaching his heart. He would have died during the early hours of the morning in the living room of the house where he was found this morning.

The police must investigate and their main suspect is the person who had visited the worker the night before. Open liquor bottles and other evidence suggest that the perpetrator of the crime was known to João well enough to go to the house where he lived alone.

The murdered man will be laid to rest in the Mortuary Chapel from 5pm this Saturday and buried tomorrow at 9am, in Vilhena. The funeral was in charge of Funerária Canaã, which collected the body and underwent an autopsy shortly afterwards.
