Beatriz Haddad Maia, or simply Bia Haddad, at 27 years old, is currently the 12th best player in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) rankings.

Prominent since youth tournaments, Bia captured the world’s attention by winning the doubles tournament at Roland Garros twice, in 2012 and 2013. However, more recently, the athlete demonstrated better performance in individual competitions, winning three singles titles : Nottingham and Birmingham in 2022, and the WTA Elite Trophy in 2023.

Bia Haddad’s prestige is not limited to the courts. Recently, Bloomberg Línea, a news agency based in New York, released the list of the 50 most influential women in all of Latin America, including Bia among this select group. The athlete was referred to as: “the most successful Brazilian tennis player since Gustavo Kuerten in the early 2000s and Maria Esther Bueno in the 1950s and 1960s among women”.

The publication also points to Bia Haddad as a strong candidate for an Olympic medal at the Paris Games, to be held this summer. Follow websites specializing in sports betting tips, such as the Sportytrader website, as the Brazilian tennis player has excellent chances of winning gold in both singles and doubles.

In 2024, Bia achieved her best ranking at the Australian Open, where she arrived as seed, and became the first Brazilian since Maria Esther Bueno to advance from the second round in Australia, however, she ended up being defeated in the third round by the Russian Maria Timofeeva. In the same competition, in the doubles competition, alongside Taylor Townsend, Bia reached the round of 16.

With the result of the Australian Open, Bia returned to the top 20 of the WTA doubles ranking, after gaining 3 positions, placing 20th.

Bia plans to compete in the doubles tournament at the 2024 Olympics alongside Luisa Stefani, as both hold rankings that allow them to play together.

Bia and Luisa have already achieved, as a duo, two ITF titles in 2019.
