Dani Alves has already posted bail of one million euros and could be released this Monday, after being in preventive custody for 14 months.

Last Wednesday, the Barcelona Court, which had sentenced the Brazilian international to four and a half years in prison for sexual assault, agreed to provisionally release Dani Alves on bail.

According to “El País”, Dani Alves will have his two passports seized (Spanish and Brazilian), he will not be able to leave Spanish territory, nor approach or communicate with the victim, and will also be obliged to present himself weekly in court from Barcelona.

It took the former footballer several days to raise the amount. Once the amount was transferred to the court’s account, the entity instructed the prison administration to carry out the release. Dani Alves, who has his accounts frozen in Brazil due to a dispute with his ex-wife, explored other options to be able to pay as quickly as possible (one of them, his friend Neymar’s father), an amount that, according to the same source, is one of the highest applied in Spain.

It should be remembered that Dani Alves had already paid 150 thousand euros to the victim, for moral damages, an amount that helped to reduce the sentence.
