The federal government is expected to announce a 4.5% increase in the price of medicines by Sunday.
The adjustment is a projection by the pharmaceutical industry that is equivalent to the inflation accumulated over the 12-month period. The law provides that the communication from the Medicines Market Regulation Chamber of the Ministry of Health will be made by the end of March to take effect from April on around 10 thousand medicines available on the Brazilian retail market.
