The car manufacturer had already stated that it would increase Model Y prices from April 1st. In the USA, the increase is 1,000 euros.

Tesla is increasing the prices of the Model Y, both in the USA and in China, with the increases varying between 700 and 1,000 dollars in these countries.

According to “Reuters”, the Model Y base model now costs $44,990. The model with greater autonomy and the model with greater performance cost, respectively, $49,990 and $53,490.

Tesla had already stated, in March, that it would raise the prices of this model in the USA on April 1st. But not only. The manufacturer said it would take the same step in China. In this case, the increase would be around 700 dollars.

In Europe, Tesla said at the time that Model Y prices would rise by around 2,000 euros in some countries from March 22nd.

In an attempt to take advantage of Tesla’s price rise and defend itself against Xiaomi’s entry into this market, some Chinese car manufacturers are offering incentives, such as subsidies and vouchers, to attract potential buyers, reports “Bloomberg”.

For example, Shanghai-based Nio announced a plan this Monday that provides up to $138 million in incentives to switch from gasoline to electric cars.
