The death of a military police officer mobilizes Civil Police investigations in Campo Magro, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC). Soldier Gabriel Thomaz Feuerstein Fadel, 26, was kidnapped, tortured and shot. The crime took place on Sunday (31), but confirmation that the body found was his only came on Monday (1).
According to investigations, at around 5pm on Sunday, the Military Police (PM) reported a situation of gunshots being fired in an invasion of the city, on Rua Mauro Medeiros Damas. Arriving there, the police found a car with blood marks and cases nearby, with the body in the trunk.
Gabriel had been missing since Friday (29) and there was a suspicion that it could be him, but it was not possible to identify him at the scene. According to the police, his body was very injured.
“The victim was found inside the trunk of the vehicle, which was documented in the name of family members. Many cases at the scene, blood stains in several areas, which indicates that there was a lot of movement, but this will be investigated calmly”
described delegate Ivan da Silva, from Almirante Tamandaré, responsible for the investigations.
The body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML), where it underwent examinations. Around 4pm on Monday, confirmation came: Gabriel was recognized by fingerprint.
Still in the place where Gabriel’s body was found, the police ended up helping to rescue a man, who said he had been attacked. He was admitted to a hospital in Curitiba, where he remains, initially, under police guard.
The Civil Police already has some lines of investigation. But the police chief did not want to reveal what could be behind the crime.
“Right now we have some lines of investigation, but it is very premature for us to open them, because this could harm the investigation of the facts. We have some lines, none of them are ruled out, but it is still premature”
commented the delegate.
Gabriel Fadel was from the last class of military police officers, who graduated in September 2023. He was the son of a PM colonel who is now retired.
In a statement, the Military Police lamented the death of soldier Fadel and expressed solidarity with his family and friends.
“The Corporation is applying its efforts to intelligence work, in collaboration with the Civil Police of Paraná, seeking to elucidate the crime”
said the PM, in a note.
