Microsoft has stated the values for those who want to maintain Windows 10 security updates after October 2025
Windows 10 will stop receiving security updates from October 2025, but Microsoft confirmed that it will extend the period for anyone who opens their wallet. Anyone who wants to participate in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for the operating system will have to pay US$61 (about R$308 in a direct conversion) to guarantee extra coverage for three years.

It is worth noting that the amount charged is for a single computer, if the user wants to add more machines to the package, they will need to pay the equivalent amount for other systems. As the program will run for three years, anyone who wants to participate after the initial period will need to pay for the previous period, as updates are cumulative.
Microsoft offers alternatives
According to MS, the program brings monthly security updates and does not affect other aspects of Windows. The user will acquire a 25-digit key to place in the operating system, which will receive news as soon as they are released.

- Microsoft 365 subscribers automatically receive ESU to access cloud-based Windows 11 PCs;
- For organizations that use cloud-based management solutions, it is possible to purchase a special offer that entitles them to a 25% discount. Therefore, the first year of ESU costs US$45 per user for up to five devices.
Finally, Microsoft points out that the best thing to do is to upgrade compatible computers to Windows 11, purchase an operating system license or migrate to the cloud when subscribing to Windows 365.
