A 38-year-old driver died late this Tuesday night (2), in an accident involving a truck and a trailer on a section of Rodovia Anhanguera (SP-330), located in Limeira (SP).
According to AutoBan, the concessionaire responsible for the stretch, the accident was recorded at 11:20 pm at km 131 of the highway, inland. It was a rear-end collision between the truck and the trailer.
The Military Police responded to the incident and, according to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the driver who died was trapped in the wreckage after the collision. He was driving the vehicle coming from behind and ended up hitting the rear of the other.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) provided assistance to the victims. The man did not resist and died at the scene. The other victim, a woman, was uninjured.
The driver was taken to the police station, where she informed the police that she was driving along the road when she felt a knock on the back of her vehicle.
At the time of the accident, lanes two, three and the shoulder of the highway were completely closed, but were soon reopened. There was no congestion.
The case was registered at the Limeira Police Station as manslaughter while driving a motor vehicle.
