Microsoft announced the extended support program for Windows 10 users, who will stop receiving security updates in October 2025, and on Tuesday (02), the software giant finally confirmed the prices of the extended update service for when the operating system is no longer supported.

To the Windows 10 extended security updates will cost $61/year per PC (around R$309/year). The program will be available for three years, and those planning to join it later will need to pay back, as the updates are cumulative and include all previously released fixes.

For organizations using Microsoft’s cloud-based management solutions, there will be a special 25% discount. Additionally, the extended security update program will be free for businesses that use Windows 365 to access Windows 11 cloud-based computers.

Microsoft warns that the extended support is only a temporary measure. The objective is to give users more time to prepare their migration to Windows 11.
