Neighbors and friends of Monica Padilha spoke this Wednesday morning (3) with the RICtv team about the woman’s murder. Monica was surprised early in the morning at home, by her husband, Aramis Padilha, in Contenda. The victim even tried to defend himself, putting his hand in front of the gun, but was killed with a shot to the forehead.
According to witnesses and people close to the couple, the man showed signs that he might commit a crime. A neighbor even commented that Oliveira had been different in recent days.
“We didn’t notice, because they were a nice couple, they got along well. From what we saw, we weren’t inside to see what it was like. He had been threatening to kill her and kill himself for a week, out of jealousy”, commented Josiane Soares.
Husband posts a few hours before killing wife
In addition to the threats at home, this week, Oliveira made mysterious publications on social media. On Monday night (1st), the husband published a biblical excerpt: “In my father’s house there are many mansions; If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I will prepare a place for you.”
On Tuesday morning (2), the day that ended with the couple’s death, Oliveira shared another excerpt from the Bible. “My only certainty for this day: ‘The Lord is my shepherd, I will not want anything.”
Later, a few moments before the crime, Oliveira updated his story on Facebook with a message: “There was a night when I almost gave up.” A few hours later, the husband shot his wife in the head and took his own life.
