Struggle by hotel workers to defend CCT Hotéis
Today, April 24th, hotel workers, together with leaders from the Southern Hotel Union, continued to gather in front of hotel establishments that belong to the governing bodies of the Portuguese Hotel Association (AHP).
Today, the gathering was at the Hotel Turim Boulevard. The next action/concentration will be on April 29th at the Heritage Hotel on Avenida da Liberdade, 28, in Lisbon, from 8:30 am to 10:00 am.
“Workers are tired, offended and want to see their professions and rights valued, which is not happening in hotels, employers do not respect the collective and individual rights of workers on a daily basis, with a single objective, to profit from the highest percentage of those who produces.
Never in the past has worker productivity been so high and it was not for this reason that workers saw their income increase and rights valued, on the contrary, the sector is the one that pays the lowest wages at national level, the greatest precariousness and removes workers to invest as a profession of the Future.”
