Woman is indicted for the death of her dancer friend in an accident between jet skis: ‘she took the risk’, says police chief | Santos and Region

The Civil Police indicted a woman for the accident between jet skis that caused the death of Juliana Carvalho Nasser, a 27-year-old dancer, in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo. As determined by g1, this Friday (26), the accused was a friend of the victim. She hit her while making extreme maneuvers with the vehicle without a license.

According to the Brazilian Navy, the accident occurred near the Bertioga Channel, which crosses Guarujá. The woman was taken to Hospital Santo Amaro (HSA), also in the city, but she did not survive her injuries and died at the scene.

According to delegate Antonio Sucupira Neto, head of the Guarujá Headquarters Police Station (SP), where the case is investigated, the Juliana’s friend “took the risk” by making dangerous maneuvers without a license to ride a watercraft.

In the police investigation, obtained by the g1the corporation recorded having taken statements from approximately four people involved in the case, as well as the owner and employees of the marina in Guarujá (SP) and employees of the company that rented the jet skis.

In the reports collected by the Civil Police, described in the investigation, there is information about Juliana being in the water accompanied by four people, being her friend and three other men.

A witness told the corporation that, at a certain point, Juliana’s friend took control of a watercraft, previously driven by one of the men, and began making dangerous maneuvers.

According to the witness, Juliana’s friend made a “very dangerous” maneuver in front of a boat, which was coming at high speed, diverting in a “U” path, returning towards the rest of the group. As she exited the curve, she collided with the other watercraft, where the victim was.

According to the testimony, the watercraft “literally passed over” the friend’s vehicle, where one of the men was also present. With the impact, both fell into the water. The boy suffered an injury to his leg and Juliana, in turn, was left with her head submerged.

Single and without children, the dancer lived in the capital of São Paulo and was in the city on a trip. She would have turned 28 in June this year. A family member interviewed by the reporting team, who preferred not to be identified, said that the young woman used to visit Guarujá.

Juliana Nasser had a degree in Arts, with a Qualification in Dance and training in classical ballet, in addition to an MBA in Strategic Business Management from Anhembi Morumbi University. She was a coach at the Brazilian Coaching Society. She has been a teacher at several dance schools and won awards at festivals.

The Medical-Legal Institute (IML) of Praia Grande, where she was taken for necroscopic examinations, released the body after the family carried out recognition. An insurance company transported the body to São Paulo this Tuesday, but there is no exact date for burial.

The accident happened late on Sunday afternoon (10). The victim was on a watercraft, which left the Tropical Marina, and collided with another. The woman was thrown into the sea after the crash and lost consciousness.

According to the police report, a friend said that they were at Praia do Iporanga before taking the watercraft. The Brazilian Navy reported that the collision occurred at the height of the Bertioga Channel, which crosses Guarujá.

After being rescued from the water, the victim was taken in the back of a pickup truck to a gated community within Praia do Iporanga, where a doctor on duty attended to him at around 6pm and, after assessment, advised him to take him to Hospital Santo Amaro.

In a statement, the hospital reported that resuscitation maneuvers were performed on the young woman, who did not respond and died in the unit.

Guarujá City Hall reported that the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called, but upon arriving at the scene, those involved in the accident had already been removed for medical care.

The São Paulo Port Authority sent experts to the scene to investigate the causes and possible culprits for the accident. This Tuesday, the Civil Police reported that they have already identified and should summon those involved to clarify the facts.
