For the documentary, Cabrini collected a series of testimonies, such as a rare interview with the pilot’s mother, Neyde Senna, and met some of the main characters of that day, such as the narrator Galvão Bueno, friend and owner of the voice that conveyed to the public the great moments of the pilot’s career; in addition to Adriane Galisteu, then Ayrton’s girlfriend; the doctor Giovanni Gordini, who was the first to treat him; and Betise Assumpção, Senna’s advisor at the time, who for the first time talks about everything she saw and heard on that fateful day.

O NaTelinha had exclusive access to part of Galvão’s interview in the documentary. “He had been debating the issue of security. They had been debating the issue of security”, quoted the Globo contractor. “He also said: ‘But I’m going to hit this car. I’m going to torment these guys, but I’m going to hit this car'”, said Bueno. “Senna hit hard. Very hard. But I swear to you, Cabrini, I was sure he was going to get out of the car”, confided the narrator.

Roberto Cabrini has been searching for answers for 30 years

Witness to an event that went down in history, Roberto Cabrini followed and scrutinized the official investigations after the pilot’s death. The journalist brought up a series of facts that remained hidden, such as secret meetings between Ayrton Senna and those involved in the preparation of his car on the most diverse fronts.

It was Cabrini who revealed the first image of the helmet and later proved, with his investigations, that there were images from the onboard camera, which, until then, had been denied by Formula 1 directors. The sequences were only released first hand under pressure from the journalist Brazilian and, even so, they mysteriously presented a suspicious cut at the moment of impact against the wall.

“It’s been practically 30 years investigating these events, from the most diverse perspectives. For me, as a journalist, Senna was a dense character. And as a human being, a very dear friend. A report like this is more than a mission for me. It’s a true calling. A complex story that has to be properly addressed by everything I saw and experienced, firstly in my experience with him and, later, in my investigations into that May 1st. It’s easy to understand why the special documentary was created. called The Day That Hasn’t Yet Ended, with all the convictions and questions it brings to this day”, analyzes the reporter.

Senna 30 Years: The Day That Hasn’t Yet Finished will have a special edition within Domingo Espetacular, as part of A Grande Reportagem, and the full TV version will be broadcast shortly afterwards, on Câmera Record. The documentary will also be available on PlayPlus.
