The brand launched several proposals inspired by strawberries for the table or picnics. Prices start from €1.50.

Associating strawberries with the decoration of our homes until it seems unusual. However, food already appeared frequently in European Baroque paintings, a symbol of sensuality and temptation. In the contemporary world, they now have another connotation and these patterns are sought after by those who want to give a more retro or vintage touch to their homes.

At the beginning of April, for example, Primark launched a series of plates and other ceramics inspired by different fruits such as lemons, oranges or watermelons. The proposals became a phenomenon and, since then, entering one of the stores means discovering a colorful, vibrant and somewhat bizarre world.

Aware of this madness, Flying Tiger has just launched a collection with exactly the same theme and kitsch spirit — but with more affordable prices. However, the Danish brand decided to focus solely on strawberries in the new collection, with items not only for the home, but also for gatherings outside.

The pieces come in different sizes, but red and white are always the predominant tones. There are bowls, platters, strawberries for those who like to have a composed (and, in this case, fun) table to welcome guests for lunch or dinner.

Among the new products designed for spring, the label also launched several options for picnics. From tablecloths with fruit prints to a strawberry-shaped snack box, the theme extends to the outdoor plans that are beginning to emerge.

Both are inspired by the kitsch style, which emerged in the art markets of Munich (Germany) in the 1860s. At that time, it was a word used to describe cheap but popular drawings and photographs. In 1939, the writer Hans Reimann gave it another meaning in “The Book of Kitsch”, defining the aesthetic movement as “something that appears in a painter’s studio”. And now it’s more trendy than ever.
